    Susan Morland's paintings start in the unconscious and develop as she paints. She draws her inspiration from her own life, twentieth-century women poets and biology.

    Winged Victory shows a female figure growing wings from her shoulders as she takes flight. She writes that this work, "speaks about freedom of body and mind, regenerating life, being part of the planet and the spirit longing to fly".
