About Jaleh Fisher
This photograph is the second of a set of three works made for an exhibition organised by Iris, the Cambridge Women's Photography Group, at New Hall in 1995. Jaleh Fisher writes: "The inspiration for the work was the tension that I felt when my mother stayed with me for a couple of months and my struggle to keep her happy at the same time that I was trying to look after my own teenage children. I had to supervise my children but I was supervised myself. Where was my identity? Which way to turn?"
