About Joanna Moss

Joanna Moss won a British Airways new artist award in 1990 which enabled her to travel around the world. She chose to visit the financial centres of Tokyo, Sydney and New York, where she concentrated on creating permanent images out of transient events, such as single financial moments at one of the stock exchanges she visited. She later worked with hospital equipment, which also records passing moments, as in the birth scan depicted in Own Copy.
