    Oona Grimes (born London) studied at Norwich School of Art: 1982-86; Slade School of Fine Art: 1986. Represented by Danielle Amard Contemporary Art.

    Slash is one of a series of triptychs, which were envisioned, in the form of a giant colouring-in book. It reflects the structure of the frieze, in particular the 'villa of mysteries' wall painting in Pompei. In this reworking of a zoophorus, creatures commit unspeakable acts of violence. They query an almost casual equation of torture and play.
