Donated by the artist 1993This maquette is one of a continuing series of works by Bridget Heriz on the theme of creation, destruction and regeneration. In Celtic mythology, Ceridwen was the mother of the sixth-century Welsh poet Taliesin and the goddess of the Muses. The name Ceridwen may derive from the Welsh words ‘cerdd’ (song) and ‘gwen’ (blessed or fair).
