  • About Yvonne Jones

Yvonne Jones uses her practice to investigate ideas of the 'human condition'. Early paintings explored how 'we relate to ourselves in our inner existence', it culminated in a show "Describing the Elephant', other early paintings explored how 'we relate to each other', seen in 'Family Matters'. She has recently gained a PhD for a fine art practice based period of research that asked 'what the implications of notions of the posthuman hold for the living human?' This video installation work was seen in her doctorate show 'Peeling the Body' 2010 at Winchester School of Art, part of Southampton University.

She has shown widely including New Contemporaries, and is a founder member and current board member of ArtSway, rated in the top 50 galleries in the UK. Currently she is exploring the possibility of working with a university forensic lab to take her work, created within a coming together of art practice and medical practice, a stage further.
